Where to dump old computer hardware

I have some old computer hardware which is of no use to anybody & is fit for the skip (most of it doesn't work & it's not fit for charity).

I know you’re not meant to throw computer hardware in skips due to some new EU law and any place I have found that recycles computer hardware does it for a cost....

I want to do the right thing & dispose of it properly, is there any particular place (in Dublin) where you can dump computer hardware for free?
[I had a look on the net with no success]

    Any help would be appreciated,
    LeNNoX

Maybe a relative or from might take them off your hands, if not then any computer shop will probably be able to dispose of them properly.

The recycling Depot at the back of North Strand Tech. at the Five Lamps, near Seville Place in Dublin.

    They keep silly hours though.

Might be worth ringing them first. They certainly used to take computers, but they do not mention them specifically on their page.

    Spurious,

Thanks - I rang them & they do take computer parts... that's excellent.

    Thanks again,

Isn't this the whole point of the PRF recycling charge?. Anywhere that sells electrical goods are now obliged to take your old electronics and **** off you free of charge, that's supposed to be the reason we're paying more for everything now...

Just in case anyone is looking for somewhere south-side - ballyogan recycle depot just of the M50 is dead handy, saw a guy there the other day taking in 4/5 pc's out the back of his car !
