Hi, anyone use any of the Navman fitness GPS tools?

They can track pace, speed, distance?

Looking to get one for kayak marathon training but wondering if anyone has any experience with them, good or bad.

The Outdoor Pursuits people may be better able to help you.

I have a buddy who uses one he attaches to his arm for windsurfing. As far as I know he uses it for tracking speed. I'm not sure if it has other features. He's all about the speed! I also don't know the brand.

I'll ask him and get back to you.

Yeah the one he has is a Navman. He reckons its great at what it does. i.e. measure his speed and distance, and all handsfree. It doesn't give position, apparently because its located on the arm its not as accurate as a handheld one. Or something.

Anyway a thumbs up from him.

    Thanks!

I reckon they are a good tool if you train alone. It's difficult to be consistent while on your own when you don't know what speed you travel at.
