Nintendo cracking up?

Anyone had any trouble with their DS lites? A lot of people seem to be reporting cracked hinges..

Well I say a lot, but maybe there isn't so many. I did a little write up on my blog, which can be found here:

Well, remember what happened at the launch of the xbox 360.. The internet has a way of exaggerating things to the extremes. Just thought it'd be interesting to see if anyone on here had any problems.

aren't the lite's hinges supposed to be more robust than the old model?

I have a big problem with the hinge on my DS Lite.

It doesn't act as a digital camera!! Like what kind of ****ing hinge is it?

I have to say i bent the screen back a little too far and i heard a crack but then just popped it back up and its fine. No cracks visible from the outside.

From the title I was expecting an announcement regarding a nintendogs dating sim or something similarly barmy....learning of cracked hinges is somewhat underwhelming...

I read about this happening on another site, and it seemed a lot of people had some sort of crack on their hinge.

And a lot of the users discovered that there was a crack on theirs in exactly the same place.
Maybe it's localised to just the U.S. DS lites, I haven't heard of anyone here having the same problem.

Yea, same as. Although I was thinking more along the lines of a "wtf loike! a control shaped like a telly remote!? these craZy coonts have gone too far!!".

Everything I've read about the cracked hinges so far has led me to believe that it's not too widespread.
