Just back from germany and thought i would tell you all a story.

I was over with some friends to go to a biker fest where other friends were headlining. They get their amps renteed every year over there and when the shopkeeper was told "They like like marshalls" he said " I have something much better".

The next day 3 diezel heads and cabs turned up at the festival. 2 herberts and an einstein. All just out of the factory, special build prototypes for the show. one didnt even have a badge. I was jamming on the sunday with the boys playing the amps and they are bloody sweet. I had a chat with the makers and will post up a pic of me with the 3 heads and him. The factory was 10 mins down the road and when i play over there i am promised any diezel gear i want.

    Great weekend

    Great amps but damn expensive

I'd love to play a Diezel, I've heard amazing things about them, and I can't recall anything negative said either. Aswell as that I've seen Peter Diezel take plenty of time to talk to people on the Harmony Central forums, and very quick to answer questions aimed at him.

I think with Engl, Diezel and Bogner, German amplification has a lot going for it. ;)

Yup I'd agree with that. Also the best acoustic amps are german as well (AER). They just build everything so solid. lol

Just looked up AER, and I'd say they'd have to be damn good at that price!

€3111 new from Thomann. Still though, €2000 new is not to be sniffed at, so if I ever need a 180 Watt all-tube amp, then I'll let you know. :p

    :p

Honestly, I'm not that much of a gear whore, and I'm truly sorted for ampage for a hell of a long time now. I've found the perfect sound for me, so I've no amp gas left.

Noone *needs* a 180 Watt all-tube amp, but that's not to say using one to explode nearby wildlife isn't a great way to pass a saturday. ;)

Forget wildlife, it could probably be used to commit war crimes. :D

dust mine ears/eyes decieve me? KH in GAS denial??? you have to embrace the fact that you have the syndrome, only then can you make moves to cure yerself... assuming you want curing that is

Oh I'm not saying I don't have GAS, just not GAS for an amp. Now, a piezo equiped guitar, then we're talking shakes.

When a poor musician gets their hands on such an amp

Meh, if I could afford it, you'd all be hearing me play out of time scales with ****e picking technique and poor definition right now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,135 ✭✭✭✭John

Nah, that's not a poor musician to me. I'm talking about the likes of Creed or someone equally heinous. Like when McFly or Busted play with a wall of Mesa amps behind them (not plugged in, granted)
