A lady's 70th Birthday

A friend of mine has to go to a cousin's 70th birthday this coming weekend. He was just looking for ideas on what to buy her or get her? She is preety well off and is just back from been in Spain for 5 weeks, so a holiday voucher is out of the question? There is no limit to the budget but nothing too expensive.

Any ideas would be most welcome. Thank you all in advance!!

She could hook up with the other person asking about a party on this forum, he is having a 70th party too. :)

Seriously though, what interests does she have?

Her family have a party organised for her. I'll be honest my friend has not seen in quite a long time so they are not sure of her interests!!!

If she is well off there is no use to buy expensive brandy or such I take it?
Try something personal - if he is close to her maybe a shared weekend in Ashford castle later in the year. Old people usually enjoy company better than material things anyway.

She might seem old to you, but I can guarantee she does not consider herself old.

Think of something people would not usually associate with old people....

    A night's bowling?

A voucher for an expensive hairdresser (not blue rinse territory)?

A day's rally driving with Rosemary Smith?

A day out on a small yacht?

Not very much time to sort it, but a collection of photos gathered from family members labelled in an album, or cos it's her 70th, a collection of her travels/events of her 60's.
