    Hi,

Has anyone tried the MBT boots - the runners that are supposed to tone your body as you walk? If so how did you find them? Im thinking of getting a pair but wonder if they are worth the money

I got some and find them okay.
I suffer from back pain and they make no difference to that. I was hoping that regular walking in them would help me, but I notice no change. The guy in the shop told me that I'd feel muscle pain like I'd done a major workout, but I never did.
What they are good for is for wearing if you're standing around a lot, and if you have a job where you stand a lot AND can wear silly looking runners while you do it then they are worth the money - your feet and legs don't feel half as tired afterwards.
I've had them for about 2 months now.
    Hope this helps.

The MBTs are available from any of the big department stores at this stage and have some of their own outlets around the country as well.

I would advocate them more for those who have a problem with swollen calves/ankles that they cannot seem to shift (once any cardiac/renal problem has been ruled out). The all over body toning claim is based on the premise that by balancing on the runner you body has to make many small muscular adjustments to keep you balanced hence 'toning' the muscle.

I haven't seen them actually work in that respect. If you happen to spend your time sitting at work and you want to give the whole concept a try - buy a balance cushion and sit on it it's a lot cheaper.
