How much of a donation? 5 quid?

5metrescrum has been pimping this jersey on most of the main rugby message boards.

I'm sure the players who signed the jersey wouldn't want to see it being sold off this way. How about just giving it back so it can be raffled off again instead of trying to make a quick buck?

AFAIK, the seller is a very respected member of Munsterfans, and is donating all money to the charity. There's threads on it over on that site. Considering how Munsterfans have re-acted to ticket touting etc, I can't imagine they would help promote this if it wasn't legit.

I hope that is the case. If he intends to give ALL the proceeds to IRUPA Injured Players Fund, he should have spelt it out clearly on the auction page and on the various posts he made that 100% of the money made goes to the charity.

If that's the case, why doesn't he say it in the post here or on ebay? In both cases he specifically states that "a donation will be made from the proceeds". That seems very clear to me and it's reasonable to ask how much of a donation. If the intention was that all the money was going to charity then why didn't he say it? I'd actually have no problem with the guy keeping all the money but I have a big problem with him using the name of a well respected charity in order to increase interest in his auction. I've enough experience of "charity events" where only 10% or so of the money actually ends up with the charity to be suspicious about such wording.

I agree it is a bit suspect, but guess you have to trust him. It'd be pretty low to abuse the name of a charity like that.
