Car is going for ther NCT at 10:50AM today. Just inspecting it again and the Left CV joint boot has died and is starting to leak. Im going to clean it up, cable tie it up and hope for the best.

Just wondering if a ruptured\leaky boot is a failable offence?

If the rubber is split it will fail.....................if he spots it !

meh, it wasnt split as such, it cracked at the part where it meets the driveshaft on the diff side. I fastened it with a cable tie, but it still failed.

No biggie, I planned on changing the joint anyway.

Sorry to hijack the thread but i've another quick NCT question, ahead of mine on Saturday

Basically, the drivers door window is f**ked. The Regulator has cracked and the pane is being held up with a piece of wood.It wont go down or anything when the switch is pressed Not sure if this has anything to do with the NCT but will it fail on this?

Holy 3-year old thread resurrection batman!

Yes, windows that won't open that are supposed to are a fail (safety as in a crash the occupant would have to try to break the window to get out)

Pretty sure the drivers window is the only one thats actually reqd to work, based on the driver having to use hand signals if necessary.
    Unlucky.
