Erm... open it, press "printscreen" on your keyboard, go into mspaint, and paste it, and save it as a jpeg?

easiest way to do it it to zoom in on the part of the drawing you want to make a jpeg. use the Print screen button on your keyboard and paste it into a new photoshop document and then file ---> save for web ---> jpeg. you get an image looking like this

( you can crop it in photoshop to remove the autocad application boarder)

    cadjpeg.jpg

If you know how to use illustrator you can import the cad file into illustrator and play with the layers and add some colour to it making it easier on the eye. you end up with something like this (forgive the sky background, its part of an advertisement I done)

    illustrator.jpg

for the white on black use the print screen method. you wont notice anything when you hit print screen untill you open up a photoshop document and hit file
    > paste into the new document.

If you want you can send me the cad file and ill convert it into a jpeg for you. I have cad 2000 and cad 2006 on this machine so it should be compatible with what ever file you have. PM me if you have trouble with the print screen method but its easy enough, just make sure you have cad open and active when you hit print screen and then open photoshop and paste into a new document.

Nah, you can use paint if you like no problem. Same method and save as a jpeg. I just use Photoshop cos I find it easier to mess with the pic if I need to enhance it in any way.

try closing down cad once you take the print screen and then opening up photoshop. You're probably running to many applications and running out of virtual memory. Its a pain in the arse all right, use to have that problem while in college trying to run 3dmax and cad together. needless to say I done most of my work at home and just emailed the files into college to plot them out and hand up.

(if photoshop wont run just use paint, your options will be a bit limited though if you need to add anything to the cad drawing)

For technical drawings you're probably better off using PNG instead of Jpeg.

What version of cad do u have ?

Im using cad 2007 at the moment and with 2006 and this version u can go into print. Then u select your printer click on this and u get an option there with all the printers saying " Publish ToWeb Jpg". You can save this to your desktop or what ever. Doing the print screen button does work but the pricture quality is poor.

Or you could always go into File then publish and do a DWF file. No one can change it but you do need something like volo view to look at a DWF file but this can be downloaded free of charge.

Yeah I've got a program called PDF995 that will do that. I'm sure there are others though but this one is shareware so I can email it to you if you like.

I used PDF995 as well, works nicely.

As for exporting to jpg, there's a option to do it from withing CAD. Click File->Export and follow whats beeing said in the command line

    Free DWG Viewer - www.infograph.com

This will let you open dwg file and save as jpeg

eh yeah AutoCAd comes with a pc3 file to print to raster jpgs, pngs etc. If you may have to add it as a printer through the options menu
