Raise, Call, Fold. Which one?

Ok this is a hand from a game with mates from last night, it mightn't be big money but they aren't mess games either.

But still I want to start disussing my play more, just to see where I can improve.

Two players left. Other guy is a good solid player.
Both of us have around 4000.
    Blinds 300 bb, 150 sb
    I'm small-blind and dealer.

    I get AJ diamonds.
    I call the 150 and raise 600.
Guy sees my raise and raises another 1200.

What's my action should I just fold, call his raise or go all-in? And what about my 600 raise, too small or should I have just flat-called the big blind?

I think headsup AJ suited is plenty good to get all the money in. He isn't going away at this point but there are a lot of hands that he might raise with that you beat.

Heads up I push this every time. And it'll take the combined strength of fuzz, hj and gholi to make me change my mind.

If your info on the other player is that he's a good solid player, then I dont think it's as clear-cut as has been made out. What hands has he shown down heads-up/3-handed? AJ after being re-raised isn't exactly a monster, although like the lads said, it probably is a push.

I'm the same I'd push with an ace with 9 higher, but I'm think my raise of 600 was too weak, or is a fair amount?

I ended up going all-in, and he calls and shows AK spades. And board cards were a king and some useless rag cards.

I know I was thinking maybe the guy had queens or better.

600 more is about right. Your hand is very good for this situation, and you don't want to scare him off weaker hands when he will probably take a pop with any ace or worse. Going all in once he reraised is also good, unlucky to run into AK.

First hand of last years WTP Final heads up at Gold Strike.
The Grinder called Scotty's all-in after a raise and re-raise with AJ. Scotty had AQ and went on to win.
Maybe there was some deal but there you go....

this sounds extremely similiar to a HU hand in a home game i was at last night......fiachra??

it's either push or fold for me, you've only 1900 left behind if you flat call with the pot 4K+, so it's just a case of what range he has and going from there.

I think the raise is fine 3x BB is a good amount

I would probably fold to his reraise. He is showing strength and there arent many hands that you beat, I doubt he is doing that with AT or worse.

You will probably get better analysis if you wait a longer time before posting results.
