I don't know what happens in this situation so if anyone knows, please help.

I posted in this thread not so long ago.

Basically my P45 arrived the day after i last posted and i handed it into work on 7 July.
Now i arrive into work tonight to be greeted with an email saying they cannot except the P45 that was sent to me as it was photocopied.

So once again, wonderful, i'm missing the deadline for the payroll because of the last company's incompetence.
But thats not my problem. I handed in my notice last week so i won't be working here when the next payroll comes around (August).

How do i go about getting back all the money im owed for this job when i will no longer be working here in 3 weeks?

If anyone knows i would greatly appreciate it. I'm so angry at that last company. I left working there at the start of March and i'm still trying to wrangle a P45 out of them

Unless things have changed since I last received a P45 you should have been sent the original copies of parts 2, 3 and 4.

If I were you I'd ring or visit my local tax office (again). Complain about being given a photocopy and ask if there is a procedure for requesting re-issue of your tax credits. If you have photocopies of parts 2, 3 and 4 these guys are acting the muppet again. If they sent you a copy of part 1 then why do they still have it?

Unfortunately I really doubt that you'll get it sorted within three weeks. Occasionally it can take that long to get the credits sorted under normal circumstances.

This job *should* also issue another P45. This is your proof of how much tax you've paid. Your next job should then take both P45s (you'll need the originals) and adjust your tax credits until you're refunded all the emergency tax you've paid. If you don't get another job, then you go to the revenue in January and claim back all of your tax.
