    What version ?
A reinstall or clean install ?
Are you booting from the CD or runing setup/winnt32 inside windows ?

Copy the files from the CD to the HDD. You will find out if the cd is ok and it will bypasss CD problems later on.

The cd is fine, i know for a fact... its xp pro sp2 and its a clean install, formatted the drive and everything... and im booting from the cd...

i left it for a while when it was frozen and the installing windows screen came up...

I had exact same prob, it turned out to be faulty memory, so that's what I'd suggest - if you haven't already :-)

2*128? Are you installing this on the rig in your sig?

I'm also assuming XP here. Are you installing the correct SATA driver at the initial installation section (dos section)?
