Your looking for this kind of thing ,

    http://www.ptgui.com/info/photo_stitching.html

There are lots of these so dont get hung up on this one , there may even be some free ones out there , if your camera is a canon , canon do a free version with their cameras , thats what I use.

Its called Photostitching by the way.

I like this one. Beware though, it is very processor intensive.

    http://hugin.sourceforge.net/

I've used Hugin for all but one of my panoramas and I've absolutely no complaints with it.

The benefit of autostitch is you load up your images and it does everything with no intervention. For example (7 images):

On the flipside, you get much more manual control and I've had less hassle with Hugin than Autostitch with my World of Warcraft shots. Autostitch just seemed to keel over and start drooling softly when I put computer game shots into meh.

Meh, to each their own tool :D

Lovely shot bp, I really like the way the grass is. Quite dreamy.
Here's one I just did quickly.

    Thanks....I just liked the colours...

anyway..on topic....with autostitch at least, you do need to load it up in photoshop or whatever you use afterwards and crop away the black around the border and do your usual adjustments.

ÿa andy it's a canon i took them with . does photostitching software come with the cameras or do u have to downöoad it from the canon site

You should have gotten it with the camera , check your CD's if you have em and see if its there ,
Here is a link to the canon page with photostitch software , it lists all the cameras that it comes with , and as far as I can see its pretty much all of them ,
This page is just an update I think , but if you install a serial number ( camera serial number ) I think you can get the full thing ,
