Acne on my back and chest

Hi I am new to this forum and would just like to know if anyone out there has ever heard of bad ance on the back and chest. I have fairly bad acne on my back and chest, and have not found a cure to it at all yet. All doctors have seemed to be able to do, is to give me antibiotics, which I definitely do not want to have to take for this. Also another alternative doctor told me that I had "heated bowel syndrome" which means that some foods cannot be digested by my body which results in them staying in my digestive system and heating up - with the heat rising through my body and causing the acne. Any ideas that people have on the subject would be much appreciated - I am 20, and can barely stand to look at my chest or back in the mirror, which is quite unsettling at this age.

I have a similar problem. I am only 17 though. I had some acne on my face and back and chest. I went to the doctor and he gave me tablets to take for the problem> They cleared my face very well and did some good for my back and chest. It's not all gone now though. Just as I write this I can feel a hige spot needing burst pop out of my back.

If you've tried a few things and the acne isn't clearing, you could try roaccutane. It's expensive and has quite a few side effects, but you only take it for a couple of months before the acne problem is "cured".

I'm on it 2 years now mate ;) But yeh, it does normally clear it up relatively quickly -- I just like to defy medical convention!

    TWO YEARS?
I thought it was extremely dangerous to go on for more than a few months because it damages your liver?

I was on it for 6 months and to be honest the side effects were pretty severe. But saying that it completely cleared my skin. still clear 5 months on fingers crossed. But beware if you play sport you will be seriously effected by the drug and also your overall outlook on life. thankfully the effects disappear afte the treatment. I cant imagine being on it for 2 years though that must be hell, either that or your just a really optimistic person.
