Well if you intend on having the wiring hidden completely, you best bet is to fish the wires from a hole behind the TV to a hole down near your dvd/sat box etc.
Assuming that there is no slappers in the way.
Id recommend that you atleast get one side of your TV bracket on one of the wooden studs and screw in the other side in with easy drives.
easy drives are the types of screws that screw into plasterboard and then allow a normal screw to screw into it.
The more of them the better in the other side of the bracket.
Preferably if you could get all screws in wood the better.

If you don't feel like fishing the wiring you can try doing it on the surface by using minitrunking. It's a small white lidable trunking that can be got in normal or stickyback and can be painted if required.

After all that you have the bracket up, if you feel safe that it will hold up the TV then try it. Hopefully it should.
