Extracting rar files

How do you do it?? Also if it is a bootible rar file can you just copy it to a cd without extracting the files?

you can also use a prg called 7-zip. it extracts a lot of . files
you can get it from www.7-zip.com or www.7-zip.org

it is a great programme.

also for a bootable .rar file, you need to extract the compressed file before u copy to cd or else it won't boot

I get errors when I use 7zip, it says all my rars are corrupt :rolleyes: but they open fine in winrar.

I really like 7-zip and have never had problems with it but if you want another freebie (rather than WinRar's Shareware) then you could do worse than IZarc from http://www.izarc.org/download.html or ZipGenius from http://www.zipgenius.it/eng/index.php

Since Project 64 currently only supports .zip and not .7z files I have to convert any .7z files to .zip files with WinRAR and when I do they come out no more than 7 times the size. Coincidence? I think not!

The default compression mode might be set to store, and not best. Surely 7zip can convert to .zip? Anyway, 7 zip is free, winrar is not.
