Rebuilding pc

    Hey rebuilding my da's pc for him this weeked,
    have Sempron +3400
    320 gig HD
    DVD drives bla bla bla
    XP Pro

    My question is, the mother board came with driver's.
    I have rebuilt before but forgot the drivers and have had problems since eg, usb wont update to 2.0 even tho I had installed the drivers sometime after the initial install of the OS.
    Should I run the disk before installing the OS (Probably a stupid question)
    I m thinking right after the OS install but just want to be sure I do this perfect this time.

    I think right after the OS is installed it might ask you for the driver disk to install certain items that Windows was not able to find a driver for, in any case just use the disk after the OS install.
