I am travelling to Boston for a weekend in October. Can anybody recommend the best area to book a hotel?

Well we stayed in Jurys in Boston(back bay area) last year and would go back there again. It's in a very central area within walking distance of everything.

We stayed in the Millennium Bostonian hotel right opposite Faneuil Hall/Quincy Market. Lovely hotel & amazing location. We booked it through Priceline for $120 per night room only

Jury's is good value although Boston is a small city and everywhere is walkable.

I usually stay at the Marriott Copley Place myself.

Yeah, the Marriott Copley is nice, in the middle of a shopping center (Mall?). Last January, we stayed in the Radisson. Not top of the range, but grand for a long weekend. $110 a night, IIRC.
