    Hi there,

I'm about to start out at online poker. I half started up a neteller a\c - then they took the biscuit and was too much hassle. I have kick ass $770 bonus points accumulated on pacific pokers play money, i was wondering if this alone is a reason to play with them. I think i'll need to deposit a certain amount before activating the bonus.

Is it possible to inject whatever ammount required to activate it and then take all my money out - $770 included, and ship of to a possibly better poker client as i've got bad reviews on pacific poker.

Usually you have to play a certain amount of "Raked Hands" or accumulate a set amounts of XXX Points per bonus dollar before they release the money. Do you have any idea of the Bonus Requirements??

It says in the practise play mode :
" For every $10 tou wager on raked hands, you will recieve 1 bonus point.
Every 100 Comp points accumulated can be converted into $1."

I have 77954.00 points accumulated fro practise play which is $771
I was wondering if i could carry this through to money play?

argh! shag it i'm after reading it wrong - it only only converts into play money lol.

so there's that one out the window!

Can ye reccomend the best site to play poker with as a beginner.

oh and it possible to move about sites and withdraw their bonuses?

Well I think what you're talking about is known as bonus whoring, here's a good site detailing everything you need to know: http://www.bonuswhores.com/bonus-whoring-101.php

In the mean time check out people's sigs for bonus, free money and RakeBack offers, e.g. mine...  :p

EDIT: Oh and by the way the different sites aren't really any better or worse for beginners than each other, it's just really which ones you like. They all offer low stakes games and once you stick to those then you should be fine. But the Biggest Networks/Site on the internet is Party Poker, then Poker Stars, then PokerRoom, and the other main competitors are Tribeca (Paddy Power) Prima (All-In Poker, etc. etc.) Ultimate Bet and Full Tilt, there's loads more and you can see a full list and reviews on bonuswhores.com above and on www.pokerlistings.com

    thank you lol!

Could you explain the rake back offers involving other people that i hear so much about?

    ha, what a misread!

anyway, you could use the free money in my signature to begin your online poker career with Party Poker :)

it's a pretty good site for beginners although i'd recommend sticking with the small stakes for the time being until you get a good feel for the game..
playing for real money is a whole world away from using play chips but if you continue to read poker forums and analyze important hands and maybe a read a poker book or two you'll be flying in no time..

There's no discussion about Rakeback allowed on boards.ie, and TBH, it's probably better to bonus whore some of the better bonuses then play with Rakeback starting out, but anyone can send me a PM to discuss RB at anytime. ;) So feel free to send me one if you want...

RS, never played at Pacific but from what I gather it would be a pretty good site to start out at. They only recently brought in proper multi-tabling, so they probably don't have a large amount of solid semi-pros, but a lot of recreational players.

Personally I started out at Paradise, which I'm guessing is a fairly similar site. If I were you, I'd stick with Pacific. They're trustworthy, have bad players and have good support. You can always move later if you start feeling restricted at Pacific (this will probably happen).

hi lads i am new to boards but have been reading a while now.

I started off playing with pacific poker and still play there occasionally mainly because to cash games have some unbelievablly bad players but i think it is a very good site for new players as the layout is very simple and everything about it is clear and easy to use.

This will happen at all levels but in theory it should happen less and less the higher you go up.

You should only consider moving up to a new level when you are winning at your current level, not because you believe poor play by other people is hindering you at your current level.
