Application data folders/files

    Can anyone tell me what application data files actually are?

    Using TreeSize I've been having a look round C drive and in /windows/application data there are 2 Opera folders Ver 7 and Ver 7.1 They account for about 100 mb between them.

    I have Opera 7.21 folder in Programe files this is my "current"
    Opera location (running 8.5) so can I blast the other folders and free space?

    Those folders contain information for applications such as custom dictionaries, toolbar settings, and other items not stored in the system registry. I assume that when you upgrade to the newest version of Opera that the old one was replaced?

    100mB is excessive alright, my \Application Data\Mozilla directory totals at 3mB. Your Opera directory warrants further investigation, see what's in there exactly.

    Whoops its actualy 50 mb between the two folders, I think mail folders account for most of it. Just checked, yep 95% is mail
