I'm thinking off buying the mighty mouse. Does anyone have it? Is it worth €55? Can you click the scroller ball? (I use middle click to close browser tabs)

I have one. I think it is great cos I do a lot of graphics work and it is really helpful for Photoshop work I find. I think it is worth the price, bought mine as in impulse buy in the Apple Flagship Store on Regent St. I have rec. it to other people who bought and are happy with it.

I bought it cos the trackpad on my iBook was faulty and I needed a good mouse. I really like the trackball, and like the programmable buttons. You can set them up for expose etc. I have since bought an MBP though and the trackpad works so I dont use the might mouse as much as I did at the start. Still think it is really good though. but i suppose at the end of the day a mouse is a mouse, depends on what you want to use it for?

    Id say go for it!

I'd say don't go for it.
I think it's a case of flash design over function (and i don't think it even looks particularly good).
It's not really ergonomic. The scroller ball thing is very small and fecky. I got one and soon changed back to a bigger mouse I had with a big scroller thing.

i have one and have never regretted it, being a PC convert (sssshhh), i could never get right click out of my system and now its back and the scroll ball works a treat, go on treat yourself.

It's great! Got one with my new MacBook the other day and it's really good. The scroll wheel works a charm (by the way clicking the scroll wheel as you mention activates the widgets all the time - you may be able to programme this though? I haven't got that far).

As with all things, go & ask if you can try it out for a few minutes before purchase (you don't have to purchase it in the same shop, search online for better prices).
Also consider Microsoft & Logitech mice.

OMG I didn't realise the pressing the scroll 'nipple' closes tabs in firefox!

    doh!

Mighty mouse - brill anyhow. Set the nipple to button 3 and the side buttons (4) to 'Expose-desktop and off yer go! How on earth did I ever do without a multi button mouse?!

I'd say you're better off with a logitech mouse, better value for money and better ergonomics.

( I might just be bitter because mine broke, like almost every other piece of apple hardware I have).

    ...mmmmmm .... nipple !!!! :D

I bought one as well and wierd as it is I think it works well, now if they'd just make a bluetooth version I'd be even happier. I got mine for 50 quid in 3G - that's 5 euro off.

much nicer than the one button mouse. only issue is, it aint wireless. the one and only reason I don't have one (I'm a little fearkish when it comes to wirelessness).

I have the one button jobby, but I refuse to use it cos of the lack of right-clickability.

I had a play with a Mighty Mouse in the Apple store in Las Vegas and frankly found it to be an overpriced and plasticky piece of trash that will ruin your wrist. Like others have said: Stick with a cheap Logitech. There's utilities available for OS X that will let you completely customise the multitude of buttons on most Logitech wireless mice.

Apple has many fine products and accessories. The Mighty Mouse is not one of them.

Anybody got the wireless/bluetooth version yet? If so, please post your experiences!

I'm using a Logitech MX518 right now, which is great as well.
