    Saw this on sky
    thought it was funny
particurly the bit about the peacocks

The sentencing of a businessman who lived a champagne lifestyle while falsely claiming more than £50,000 in benefits has been adjourned.
Terence Pendleton, 45, was remanded in custody to appear at Liverpool Crown Court on July 28.

He told authorities he could not walk without crutches, was depressed and living alone in a dingy bedsit.

He claimed his problems left him unable to get a job - but he was caught by undercover cameras carrying heavy boxes as he worked as a power tools salesman.

The 45-year-old drove a Rolls Royce, enjoyed luxury holidays and even travelled to Istanbul to watch Liverpool FC's Champions League match.
He shared his high life with his partner Susan Kelly and their children at a plush five-bedroom house in posh Knowsley Village, Merseyside, complete with electronic gates and peacocks in the garden.

He was found guilty at Liverpool Crown Court of 13 counts of benefit fraud dating back as far as 1998.

Recorder of Liverpool, Judge Henry Globe QC, told him: "The only sentence for fraudulent behaviour of this magnitude is a custodial one."

Anti-fraud minister James Plaskitt said: "This peacock-loving high roller has had his wings clipped for stealing money intended for the most vulnerable in our society."
