Ok, does it take anyone else like 5 minutes to connect these days?

yep, been like that for me since 2-3 patches ago... ha, if they keep releasing patches we can measure time with them.

what year where you born? patch 2.7

Go to the Profiles directory:
My Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles

Find out what number corresponds to your current online account:
(look in the profile.con to see the account name if you have multiple)

All .con files are just textfiles, so you can open them with Wordpad or something to edit them.

Say the account you use is located in 0001:
My Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles\0001

Find the 'general.con file, open it and locate the lines that say:
GeneralSettings.addFavouriteServer
GeneralSettings.addServerHistory

Example:

GeneralSettings.addFavouriteServer "70.86.19.83" 29900 "LeetServers.com"
GeneralSettings.addFavouriteServer "64.34.176.81" 29900 "21CW CAL-BF2 Match Server"
GeneralSettings.addFavouriteServer "216.17.37.70" 29900 "18AD Practice Server 1"
GeneralSettings.addServerHistory "" 7475 "Default Server Name" 2
GeneralSettings.addServerHistory "" 7457 " #m@f!a - Familienserver #4 BF2" 1
GeneralSettings.addServerHistory "85.236.101.13" 17069 "BF2 Ranked | www.northeasternswat.com" 15
GeneralSettings.addServerHistory "64.34.179.115" 29900 "69th Beijing Division Training Server" 27
GeneralSettings.addServerHistory "64.34.174.147" 29900 "69th Beijing Division Ranked." 186

Either delete all (and make new favourites afterwards) or delete as many as you can miss.

Save the general.con file

Play BF2.

What Ponster said. Basically the game is updating all the servers you have been on recently.

Yep. When you log into your account the game is updating all the servers in your favourites list. It takes about 5 seconds extra for every server that appears in red in your sever.

Why would it do that?
Who writes code this badly?

What is it actually doing with those servers? Refreshing them?

Well yeah they in your favourites so its like helping you.... not their fault the server is gone.

I think GreeBo's poont is that it should only update the favourites is and when you actually enter the favourites section.
