VNC Viewer 4, € Symbol Problem.

A neighbour of mine has this installed and it allows for you to display the other computer on your own. ie. it allows you to access one pc from another, he uses it to do work on his main pc from another PC he has in a different office. The 2 PC's are connected by network cable.

All is well and it is working fine. However when you are working on a MS Word or Works document when you go to input the Euro Symbol it will not come up up. This is a big pain as spreadsheets are a big part of his work.

I have searched on the Internet and can't come up with any solution. Has anybody here ever used VNC Viewer 4 (a freeware) and has anybody encountered this problem before?

Both Pcs are Win XP the Main PC is Celeron Acer? I think and the other is a Dell P4 both are on XP and have no problems with the € symbol when working on their own. The problem also happens in Wordpad too. It seems to me like some sort of setting in the VNC software but I don't have a clue about it:o

    Any help would be appreciated.

dont think it works with a lot of vnc software.
i think the latet vrsion of real vnc supports it

the free vesion should be more than enough over a lcoal connection.

Is the PC you want to see remotely running XP Professional? If it is you can use the built-in Remote Desktop - it's a lot faster in my experience

Both PCs are running on XP Home edition Sp2, I was thinking of attempting to get that working instead for him as it seems dead easy and might work better. If anybody has any links to a page "for dummies" guide :D on how to do this would be quite helpful. :)
