Dreaming about the Dead

    Hey all.

    I'm not really a huge believer in paranormal things but I'm certainly not narrow-minded enough to assume it's all a load of b0ll0x either!

    Anyway,just a quick question for the people who,I'm sure,know more about these things than I do:

    I rarely dream about people who are dead but last night I dreamt about my granny,who died just last year.

    Now,in the dream I asked her a question (won't go into details here) and she answered it in the way that I had always expected she would. Then I sort of thanked her and she reassured me that she loved me and we said goodbye.

    It was lovely.

    I had a similar kind of dream about my mother a few years after she died as well and I was just wondering does anyone think that this could have been a sort of spiritual thing?

    Having studied psychology,I'm inclined to believe that dreams are no more than our deepest desires manifesting themselves,but,as a human,there is part of me that feels differently about last night's dream.

    I know that when we lose someone we love we would all like to believe that they are still with us somehow so am I just reading into it all too much or could I be onto something?

    It's a topic that's come up a few times before, this thread probably being the best of them, so you're not alone in wondering about it. As you rightly say dreams are mainly the product of our subconcious and imagination, and it's only natural that we would sometimes dream about people who have passed away, but sometimes some of these dreams just seem to stand out as being something different.
