Sauna/Steam Room After The Gym

I go to the gym and then tend to go to the steam room to relax after. I've been told the steam room helps to get all the toxins out of my body.

I'm just wondering, what exactly do the steam room and sauna do? Which is better to go to after a workout or should I not be going to either?

i go there after a workout it helps relax me but sort of drains me the next day...i go to the glenroyal in maynooth cos there's a fair few hottie russians/polish who like to swim and show off their sweatty bits when they come outta pool!!!! quite relaxing alright!
