Another year gone

    Hey,

Just to let you know John, Tom, myself, Steph and Niall have finished our terms (well, I'm still cleaning up). From Monday onwards David, Simon, Rob, Denise & Barry will be taking the positions as elected sabbatical officers of the Students' Union.

Should be an interesting year next year from the point of the Semesterisation & Modularisation debate, as well as discussions on the review of ARAM, and finally re-restructuring.

So yeah. There you go. Cheers for having me and allowing me a certain amount of maneuverability in relation to the TCD Forum and putting up info on repeats, schols, mygrant etc. It's, eh, been emotional.

I suppose this sums up the year appropriately:

I'm going to miss Dónal. He's just so good at his job and so nice.

Yeah, great job Donal! Always got a good, prompt reply from you if I ever had a question. Good luck. :)

In the beginning I mourned the loss of Dathaí. I thought this young upstart could never fill the comfortable but practical shoes of the Educat but you proved me well wrong. I'm sorry to see you go but then again, I'll be gone so it doesn't really make a difference. Good luck with your final year!

I reallly will miss you donal. i really thought few people could follow on from someone i felt was as personable as daithi, but I honestly think you're one of the few ;)

    *goes to sober up*

Well I dont have anyone to compare you to as an education officer, and i think you did a great job. Thanks for all the help with that motion and thanks in general for doing a great job and best of luck next year.

Have to join the orgy of congratulation. From grasshopper to lame duck, and all points in between, the youngest child of the 70s on the planet did a great job. I have misgivings about some of his colleagues' actions over the past year, but without doubt, the honourable Education office was in good hands during 05/06. Welcome to the survivors' club!

No pressure on the new guy, of course......

but the consequences of you not being as good as Donal are already being planned

Awww. You were great, Dónal, a really really helpful Education officer. Robert is going to have a seriously tough time filling your shoes.

Especially as Dónal will be still wearing his shoes. He's giving up the position, not the wardrobe.

    Jerk.

Actually, the shoes come as part of the job. you cant take them off when in office, and must return them on leaving, to be worn by the next person. unfortunate, but shoes are expensive these days...

I'm curious as to the next tangent that this thread will take.

It's absurd comedy. It doesn't need to be understood.
