    Hey folks,

just curious to see how the girls feel about this. A short while ago i was on the Luas on my way out from town. It was pretty damn busy so i was standing and i noticed this very, very cute blond lass standing up on the other side of the carrige. I have to be honest and admit that i was admiring the view, and she caught me, gave a little smile and so did i. Every now and then one of us would catch the other on sneaking a peak. It was all very 14 years old!

Anyway, she go off in Dundrum.... i hadn't really prepared for this and assumed she was going to the end of the line. So off Hot Girl gets and i had about 4 seconds to decide whether to hop off with her and ask her did she want to go for a drink or something. Alas, time ran out and the door closed on me and i looked up the platform to find Hot Girl still looking back at me through the window.

Anyway, if a guy hopped off the Luas, Bus or whatever at your stop even though it wasn't his to ask you would you like to meet for a drink how would you react/what would you think?

I'm really regretting it now, as Hot Girl was....well, Hot!!! I'm not worried about anyone saying no, as that is there choice, or they might have a BF and just be admiring the view or whatever but would you think it was weird, or sweet???

BTW, if you read this Hot Girl, your damn hot!!!

    Flattering I would imagine.

Following her off the Luas could be completely misunderstood. If you do do it, make sure to speak to her straight away. Otherwise you go from potential date to potential rapist in her mind.

oh put it back in yout trousers man, time for a cold shower. Anyway why wouldn't you go up to her on the Luas itself? At least at that point you don't have to wait on the next Luas once you have your answer.

Also i see you are posting this in After Hours, is this in the vein attempt that hopefully she reads this and pm's you;)

TBH I'd find it kinda scarey, I think.
Never had one of those 'men can't help acting on Impulse' moments though, damn it.
It always works out well in the movies, but I think most girls would be freaked out by a guy hopping off the tram for them.

If she was single I'd say you were on to a winner ;) Sure you might bump into her again sometime..

Having said that.. If it was at night I would be freaked out..

Like i said dude, i hadn't really thought about when she would get off the Luas, or even asking her at all until she did so! T'was a very spur of the moment thing!!!

And if boards.ie poster want to start a search to try and hook up Dragan and Hot Girl, well dammit, i won't say no!!! :D

And Xzanti - i would never do something like that at night time!!! I would expect a weird reaction then!!!

"High, i know it darks, and no one is around, and i am huge and your a tiny delicate looking Hot Girl but please....come down this darkened road"..... not the best situation me thinks!!!

Something like this happened to me when I was in Australia. I had a sneezing fit on the bus and he turned around and said “bless you” with a smile. I said “thanks” and we end up chatting away till I got to my stop and he ask if I’d like to go for a drink there and then so I did. Was really sweet.

He turned out to be pretty boring and ended up giving him a wrong number but I think it’s very flattering. Sure whats the worse that could happen? She says no. No big deal!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 411 ✭✭Faerie

I think it would be very sweet and even if she said no she would be very flattered!
It's all very Joey from Friends - just don't do what he does when he is looking for the 'Hot Girl'!

Although I agree that it would be a bad idea at night.

Yeah, thats where i got her name from...love the episode, and now i feel his pain!!! :D

definitely sweet. i'd be flattered if i was in that situation.

i think it would depend on the signals you were getting. if she was smiling back at you then it's a go, if you're not getting a response at all, maybe best to leave it alone.

do girls really go for that?
i would have though they would run a mile.

    oh well. live and learn.
maybe next time i'll go for it.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 123 ✭✭Nina_Angelica

maybe not all and especially anyone who's ever had a bad experience w/ something like that but i'd say alot of us would find it sweet.

possibly, but then they'd hardly be smiling back at you. i'd say that'd give you fair indication of whether or not to make your move.

Basically it seems to me to be a bit of a mine field!!! Oh well, bye, bye Hot Girl :(

I've always wanted the nerve to try stuff like that but I just don't have it :(

Was it possible she was smiling back thinking.....please don't eat me.

Like when a savage dog starts barking and growling at you....its always "there, there....good doggy" with a big cheesey smile on your face.

Could you have read the signals wrong

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 424 ✭✭deedee lepoopoo

I think it is flattering but it depends on the pursuer.............if an old drunkard hopped off and made an offer (which would happen, knowing my luck) it could turn uncomfortable.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 13,497 ✭✭✭✭Dragan

Vegeta.... could point, though i have found that most ladies will not then look back if they didn't like the look of me!!! :D

And Sleepy , sure you can, whats the worst that could happen.....well, besides a face full of mace!!!

But Dragan, your a big chunk of man love, she would say yes, then swoon. I say go find hot girl, but remember, squeze gently, stop when her eyes bulge at least.

Well I have been in similer circumstances a couple of times before...

Once was actually a shop... girl was smiling away and I ended up giving her my number... she text me and we went out a few times. We are still mates now!!

Another was on a bus we were smiling at each other for most of the trip and when she was getting of I gave her my number and said if you want to come for a drink sometime just call.... and she did!!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,122 ✭✭✭LadyJ

Hmm....I dunno how I'd react to something like that....

On one hand,I'd be flattered but the paranoid side of me might think
    "axe-murderer"......

Probably,in reality,I'd be flattered, but taken by surprise so I'd clam up and
    say no.

i don't know about you, but if i had a big mean crazy dog in front of me growling, i'm sure it would NOT be a big cheesey smile on my face! :)

i'd be looking for a place to run and not at the dog anyway.

I had the same situation with a really hot girl a year ago, she was beaming at me with this jaw droppingly beautiful smile, and then she said " Youre wearing odd socks" and giggled. Then came ten minutes of catching each others eye contact and looking away till i got off at my stop without saying a word. Id love to have asked her for her number but i reckon a hot girl like that gets pestered all the time and i would have seemed like just another dumb horny guy lookin for to score. I regret it not saying something, but on the other hand knowing me id have messed it up sooner or later anyway.

I've been asked out in this manner on a couple of occassions. Each time I was as startled as the last time and didn't think and automatically said no. If I had the time to think about it I might have said yes but when the person is looking for an answer there and then, it can be quite daunting.

I like what has been suggested. As in, say that you would like to go for a drink with her sometime, give her your number and say that she can get back to you with the answer. Or something along those lines.

    A.

Why is everyone so afraid of chatting to people (hot or otherwise), have ye never seen sliding doors.

It's not the chatting that is an issue, i am more than happy to chat to a nice looking lady and have no problem doing so.....however following someone, especially a rather petite girl ( and especially when you are a rather big chap ), off the Luas or a bus or whatever can add a different dynamic to it completely.

It not like in a club, pub, cinema or whatever where everyone is staying where they are. As such i was just wondering if the act of having to rush off the Luas after them....remember, this girl was aware of me, and may have felt odd that had i suddenly followed her, as i showed no signs of getting off the Luas until then.

    Thats all.

It happened to me a couple of times in the past but usually when it happens as b3t4 was saying I'm kinda startled or not in the mood to talk to anyone. I'm never freaked out by stuff like that though. If the girl was with her friends it'd be a different story.

Well they say a faint heart never won fair lady. I say you should have gone for it, unless she's completely uptight and thinks you're a minger, most girls would be flattered. Any time I'm asked for my number I'll always be polite

(even if it is a fake number)

I was walking up Georges St one sunny afternoon and there were 3 girls ahead of me and one of them looked back and looked at me, and then looked around again so I said fck it I'll speak to her so I waited til they came out of the shop they were in and kinda just said "Hi hows it going" but was fumbling my words to continue the conversation after that! Ah well:D

The opposite happened to me one day too. Was just on the dart and there was a girl on the same carriage and we exchanged a couple of glances. I got off the dart and it was her stop too! Outside the station she just walks up to me, hands me her number on a bit of paper and walks off without saying anything:eek: I had a gf at the time so I couldnt really do anything about it:rolleyes:

It would only have happened once or twice that somebody was so beautiful that I would consider going up to them. Maybe everybody should start doing it, make it the norm. (:

I'd say go for it with this kinda thing, too much worrying about it being misconstrued. if you hit on somone and they, (be they male/female), take it the wrong way that's their problem not yours.
