    Hey Guys,

Some groovy news from The Spikes.

Dublin based band The Spikes release their debut single 'Monster' tomorrow Friday 7th with a launch party being held in Crawdaddy. Doors are at 8 and support comes from The Mes and The Isohels.

Described by The Irish Times as energetic, stylish, The Spikes have been churning out quality sound. With a stage show that is unmatched amongst their peers, they are a band gathering noticeable momentum.

Formed in 2004 by 3 musical friends, The Spikes set about writing material that would appeal to the masses and save themselves from a world of computers and screaming kids. Then, Aaron Mullhall sat behind the kit and made the seat his own. His unique style of drumming adding a whole new dimension to the music.

The Spikes propuce a raw, energetic sound, In Dublin

Each of the band members coming from a differing musical background brings a different element to the unique Spikes sound. Redmond has played Tuba at International competition level, Gareth Lewis has toured Britain and New Zealand with various bands while front-man Tom Dunnes roots originate in the traditional background of his native County Clare. Mulhall has kept time for bands in various genres from marching bands to post-apocalyptic punk. Fate brought the four musicians together and the communal approach to the song writing process can only benefit our ears.

Boasting influences such as Primal Scream, The Doors, Led Zeppelin and The Jam, The Spikes hold the dinstinctively new fresh and addicitive flavour of Dublin City.

2006 Emergenza Finalists with festival dates at both LeCheile and Castle Palooza in August, The Spikes look set to be one of the 'Monster' bands of the summer.

    The Spikes are:

    Tom Dunne: Vocals
    Gareth Lewis: Guitars
    Peter Redmond: Bass
    Aaron Mulhall: Drums
