...from Newcastle Falcons. Will he provide the edge they need up front or is he just another fading S. Hemisphere star cashing in on a final lucrative payday before retirement?...hasnt exactly been outstanding in the premiership.

It could be argued it's just the aussie leinster coaches looking after their own or ...here's a S12 winning player who will impart invaluable wisdom to a shíthouse leinster pack ...who can say

Indeed, excellent point, what is that about? Munster's off-season purchases are becoming more and more outlandish and eccentric...

Its a bit of a joke really as he was hoping to play for Leinster a number of years ago but nobody noticed him, he was eligible to declare for Ireland. Off he went back to Australia and won a world cup medal. I can't remeber what club he was with back then.

Halstead brilliant and a player who's really evolved and grown at Munster, but Connolly? Cullen? Oh dear... now I know they were dogged by injury and ill-luck and that's pretty much in the lap of the Gods but cant help feeling that we were at best sold a pup in both those cases.....I can hear the fiendish chuckling of an agent somewhere in the background....Any ideas on who they want for next season?

Apparently Munster have been sniffing around NZ at No 8s and centres. It's really a finisher at wing/fullback that's needed though.

We might be proved wrong about Finnegan, but on the face of it it's a bad signing. Newcastle couldn't get rid of him quick enough, and made no secret of it.

I've heard that they've been very interested in trying to sign this guy, Rua Tipoki.

He played for the Maoris at centre against the Lions and had an impressive match.
I heard that he wants to join the Munster setup as well but that NZ rugby association won't release him so the deal is pretty much dead in the water.

Hope so, because would agree with you, no impact at the falcons, in fact some of their forward performances last year were embarrasing...I watched one match where they played Sale and were shoved off the park....Finnegan was truly anonymous

Newcastle seem to be having a bit of a clear out, got rid of Walder too.

Hard to say how well Finnegan will work out.

I also agree that we should try get more up the youth structure but if we are looking abroad I think we should scout down in Argentina. I am sure we could get some young talent for leinster, something with a bit of bite in the forwards and not two expensive. the best import we have in ireland is argentinian. It would be better than the has beens we are pulling from their southern hemisphere counterparts
