What are the embasrassing CD's in your collection that you asctually like listening to but would never admit to owning in public?

    Mine are:

    1. Chris De Burgh 'The Ultimate Collection -notes from planet earth'

    2. Shakin Steven's 'greatest hits'

Nothing I own embarrasses me. All the music I own represents a part of my life and reminds me of certain times and places, no matter how awful I may find the music now.

For me my first album was a Kylie Minogue tape bought for me in 1987. I dont like it but I'm not ashamed of it.

I've only bought two cds in my entire life...so i have no embarresing cds.

    But there is one embarresment...

The computer I own use to be shared among my family, but because i paid for it i got to take it with me to college, now i use it as an alarm clock (among other things) and i have it setup that it chooses a random song from all the music in my computer to play in the morning to get me up.

one morning a couple of months into term 'bye bye bye' by Nsync comes on, blasting at full volume. I jump out of bed quickly to turn it off, but the damage was done. When i went out into the hall all the other doors were open and everyone was staring at me. Turns out my sister (despite having her own laptop) had left some of her music on the computer while it was at home, this included some Nsync...which i have since hunted down and deleted from my harddrive.

I bought BoyZones first single after i saw them on the Late late Show. I wince now at the thought of it, but i still hum along to the song when its on the radio (larry gogans golden hour)

Most embasrassing CD i bought has to be the kylie minogue greatest hits when she was doin her indie stuff...in my defense it was like 5e and only got it for the duet she did with nick cave!

Are you for real Nightwish? No offence love but thats a load of poo.

    Thats like Pighead saying:

"Back in 92 I woke up, left the house whilst completely forgetting to put on my trousers, I was wearing my Barbie loves Ken Y-Fronts and worst of all the product of my Wet Dream involving Debbie Gibson and Richard Marx were trickling down my leg.

I wasn't embarrased though as all the stupid things I've done represent a part of my life and reminds me of certain times and places."

Come on Nightwish embarrasment is cool. Embrace it.

So what if you were dancing in Fibbers and the coolest most hansdsomest man in the place started dancing with you and chose you to be his love conquest for that particular night.

Are you saying that when you took him home you would not be embarrassed to see him picking up your scooter album with a look of astonishment on his face. ? Of course you would. You'd quickly pretend you're younger brother owned it and say something like "I don't even know what scooter is babes, honest"

I am going out with the coolest most handsomest guy in the world and he has seen the full extent of my cd collection. He cannot say anything as his is worse. He owns 700+ LP's and some of those are really really dodgy.

ONLY A RECORD???? What the hells wrong with you kids. Have you lost the ability to get embarrassed? Have you become so cool and apathetic that you don't even bother going red or feeling stupid nowadays? My God the pranksters in schools around the country must be pulling their hair out.

Jimmy: Alright Johnny whats the crack, why the long face?

Johnny: Ah Jimmy I'm fcuking pissed off, today when class was just about to start I got Padi89 in a headlock and stapled a pair of my sisters used frilly knickers to his head and proceeded to play a video I recorded which showed him masturbating furiously to a picture of this chick called Beruthial he knows from some message board. What did he do? He fcuking shrugged his head and said, "They're only frilly knickers, and thats only a video" I'm retiring from this pranking business. Its just too fcuking hard.

Right - what is wrong with the Bee Gees? And why are you embarassed??:D
I have everything from the Rolling Stones to Sinatra,Barry Manilow AND Celine Dion, JJ CAle and RHCP.Donna Summer and Eric Clapton.
Never ever justify your taste in music - it is such a personal thing.
I remember loving Abba from when they won Eurovision,(yes I am old) and got a lot of stick from people over the years when I played their music LOUD when it hadn't yet become cool to like them again.
Sod it, I like what I like!!!

LOL! CSG, I must agree with that one! I didn't expect to like that one either, but I really do!

Also, James Brown's Greatest hits. Picked it up on a long trip for something different to listen to and laughed all the way! Then it got stuck in my head...
    "Papa Don't take No Mess!"

    Nickelback - Silver Side Up

    *shudder

In fairness I didn't actually buy it, I "aquired" it. Back in the olden days we had to borrow our friend's CDs and rip them, no broadband or bittorrent to download whole albums with. And I had to encode the mp3s at a shocking 64KB/s to save space on my 128MB flash player.

Man, we had it hard back then!

I have owned some dodgy music in the past......

    1) Bros Album
    2) Dublin Town, by Damien Dempsey
    3) Bosco's greatest hit (Relax I was 5, was a record to!)

......ok maybe I will stop now.

I can only think of one embaressing CD in my collection that I genuinely like: Roxette's Greatest Hits. I know, I know, it's a crime against cool but I still like some of their ballads...

Erm, just remembered I also have the Dirty Dancing soundtrack and quite like a few of the songs on it too.

There are, of course, some seriously dodgy CD's in my collection that I never listen to and don't like any more but that's for another thread.
