Hotel suggestion for staying in Union Square San Francisco for 2 adults and 2 kids.Any other sights to bring kids 7,10 years of age apart from the obvious as Alcatraz,Golden gate bridge well maybe thats for the adults the kids can tag along:)

Thinking of booking a hotel called York Hotel San Francisco.

    Thanks.

Stayed at the Handlery on Union Square last September - nice, standard hotel, right on Union Square. Yuo could catch a baseball game at AT&T park if you wanted to see America's favorite pastime, although kids might get bored.

Coit Tower is cool, nice views of the city, but that's about it.

Pier 39, alcatraz etc will be done in a day. A car would be a good idea, SF is easy to get around by car and you could go see wine country , Lake Tahoe etc.

I stayed in the Commodore Hotel a couple of years ago, on the same street as the York but about a block closer to Union Square. I'd definitely stay there again if I was going back.

Fisherman's Wharf has a few things for all the family. The Pier 39 Aqarium is good, I was there in December. Mr Ripley's Believe it or Not is well worth the money, very good! It's practically across the road from Pier 39. Don't forget to book a trip to Alcatraz a good few days in advance cause it's sells out usually a few days ahead of schedule. Go to the Golden Gate Park I think it's called, really nice for a day trip. You can rent bikes per hour or per day from Pier 39 and just cycle wherever you want.
