Without going into all the details I managed to buy the wrong ticket from one of those automated machines. It was my fault; it's just been one of those days!

Does anyone know whats the story with getting a refund on it?

    What ticket is it?

    From the IE website:
If you decide for some other reason not to use a ticket you have bought, you can apply for a refund at any main Intercity station, the DART office, Pearse Station or any Travel Centre. We will normally charge an administration fee and we may ask for extra evidence to support your claim for a refund. You must make all refund claims within 28 days of the end date of your ticket.

I bought a 3 day Balbriggan to Connolly ticket think that will do for Thurs, Fri & Sat. Never dawned on me today is Wednesday, yes I was stupid beyound belief. I've had a bad week with irish rail this week.

Normally I use a annual taxsaver ticket, but it expired llast month, I had applied for a new one, but for some reason CIE messed up the order (i buy it through work) and couldn't get it issued on time, so they agreed to postpone it for a month. I only found this out this morning when I went into work, and had already bought a return ticket for today. As soon as I had bought the 3 day ticket this evening I realsied what I had done, but my train was about to leave so I ran for that.

I figure I will buy the proper ticket tomorrow and then see what the story is when I get to Connolly tomorrow.
