Place to buy free weights

    Hi guys

    Can anyone suggest a good place in Dublin (pref south side or central) to buy free weights (dumbbell only)? I tried Champion Sports and Lifestyle in Dundrum but they don't seem to have any. I had a look in Argos but their selection is disappointing as they only sell 20kg bars and I would prefer 30kg.

    I was thinking Workout World on the Quays but in the time it will take me to check I thought I'd see if anyone had suggestions.

    You can get 4 x 5kg cast iron plates in Argos for 22.99. Combine this with the 20 kg cast iron dumbbell set and you'd probably have what you're looking for.

    [edit] check the combinations of plates that are in the set first. I think the largest plate in the set I mentioned is a 2.5 kg one. The smaller the plates you have the less weight you wil be able to fit on the bar (smaller regular plates are generally not much narrower than bigger ones, the big difference is in the height/diameter)

    You're dead right mate. I didn't see those in their catalogue and their search engine doesn't bring it back if you search for "cast iron" but does if you search for "5kg"! Thanks for the tip, exactly what I'm looking for.
