    Guys i need help

I need software to intall on my laptop to allow me to search the domain for information like computer names, users currently logged on, software installed, admin rights, file types (mp3, avi, jpg etc.)

And then i need to generate reports based on the info found.

Can anyone please reccommend software that can do all this as ive been downloading trial versions all day long with no success!!!

once upon a time there was a free set of utilities called dameware NT utilities.... and it did most of the things that you're looking for.

Now you'll need to buy it (try it first afcourse :D ), but it will do all you're looking for: http://www.dameware.com

There was a thread on this a while back and someone suggested this http://www.loginter.net/en/loginventory.php. I downloaded the trial version and it looked good to me. Plus point is that can do everything without running any client software on the workstations, assuming they're switched on, although you can do if you want.
