Yea I'm going up, might as well seize the oportunity of a vlarge sale area. I think it's 50 quid to sell so might be a good investment, might be a long day though.

  • Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators Posts: 25,558 Mod ✭✭✭✭Dades

    Another time question...

Whats a good time to arrive for pre-registered cars? It doesn't mention a time in my letter.

If you get in first are you stuck till the end - or can you always get out?!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,119 ✭✭✭mustang68

It says gates open from 8, last entries 1,[edit] public from 11. I'll aim for about tenish.

Realistically they can't stop you from leaving at whatever time you want, but it can be a pain to drive out trying to plough people out of your way ;)

    Thx, '68.

I'd have liked to add mine to the mx-5 stand... onto next year I suppose.

Here's to you guys having a glorious day for it, and I may manage to steal 30 mins in the schedule for a quick run-down and gawp at :)

I'll be there on the MX5 stand too, although you'll more likely find me in a pool of dribble if there's a Black 'vette C3 there......

enjoy gents stuck over seas working, first time in 4 years I've not had a car there and I wanted to bring 2 this year.

say hi to the mini guys on the MR stand and I demand pics up here on Monday,

Oh, and if anyone spots a dark DS in the public carpark , let some air out of a tyre - its no harm sure those futuristic french yokes can drive on 3 wheels!!!

Where IS the bloody show on in terenure?????

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,461 ✭✭✭Max_Damage

I'm just back, didn't bring my camera unfortantly. That '55 Mercedes 300SL Gullwing really was a thing of beauty. Never saw one in the flesh before, must have cost the owner a pretty penny.;) A good turn out though, although there were less American cars than last year I think. Pity the weather didn't live up to last year aswell.

Just back too. The 'for sale' section was pretty impressive this year. If you wanted to sink your money into running a Jensen Inteceptor, you were spoilt for choice.

No Volvo 1800ES's at the show (what I most wanted to see), but a couple of 1800S's all the same. The Karmann Ghias and Citroen DS's seem to attract trendy couples as owners, which was a bit offputting for my KG admiring better half, who decided she would rather opt for the less fashionable territory of a nice small Wolsley or Sunbeam Alpine.

The show food franchise needs to be sorted out big-time though. 80c for a bag of crisps from the chocolate stalls!, and pretty stinking coffee van. Bring on the Coffee Angel Vespa and some decent grub. Noticed a few hedge jumpers at the gate too, saving their 12 eurons for overpriced crisps no doubt?

I did like the, eh, special Golf at the edge of the for sale section, with it's unique take on bodywork.

I must say it's nice to be called a trendy couple, even though my mrs didn't come with me and I have the dress sense of a Mayo farmer.

Pricey enough admission, unless you have a family big enough for a family ticket. Nice afternoon out though.
