Here if anyone receives the actual timetable any chance they could actually post it up please? It'd save a lot of us money on whats gonna be an expensive weekend already! that is as long as its not against forums rules or that but i can't imagine it would be?

They won't be merged. Festivals of this nature have so many conversational strands that a merge would just make one mess of a thread.

I'm sure the timetable will be leaked out here once the newsletter is out of the bag. Tomorrow, apperantly.

mcd are greedy ***** dont expect anything off them!! if they can get the majority of 80,000 ppl to pay €10 for a timetable rather than email it out thats nearly €1,000,000 !!!!

Wouldn't that be anywhere between €400,000 and €800,000, rather than nearly €1,000,000? ;)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,322 ✭✭✭Repli

Well whatever u know what I mean, and its 80,000 each day I know that's not 160,000 because of ppl with 2 day n camping but - the fact is mcd are constantly trying to shaft concert goers..

i would generally tend to agree with you on that but look at this from the oxegen message board:

    "Hi all

for the first time at OXEGEN stage times will be available before the event, but only to subscribers to the OXEGEN.ie newsletter"

Thats been posted there since the 19th April. So if they dont give us the stage times that really would be taking the p*ss.

Wouldnt be surprised if they were E-mailed on the saturday morning... technically thats still before the festival begins (music wise) and everyone will have to pay the 10Euro due to the fact that they arrived on site on the friday... meh... who knows, maybe they will be nice & mail the times out... then we'll end up with 42316857836124 threads stating them :D

seems a bit pointless. by doing that they're saying "We'll give u the stage times but only if u sign up to our newsletter but you're not allowed tell anyone else what they are". and surely they realise that people will just post them up on other forums like this anyway

That's a joke, none of the mods work for MCD anyway, so why would they bother?

As soon as it's released, which will definately be before 5pm tomorrow at the very latest, it'll be all over the oxegen board, aswell as here too

going slightly off topic, how early would you need to be at the stage to get into the pit? I need to be at the front for the chilis!

You'd blag your way towards the front fairly handy if you were there around six or seven, but there are people who go and just stand right at the front all day and don't budge, so unless yer there from early on, you won't get to be touching barrier

it's a bit of a waste of a day to be doing that though

    jesus, relax will ye.

    Your dead right there flynnduism.

Look's like we ain't gettin them till tonight

dont let the security gaurds see them on the way in. i had a hand full confiscated by some wanker last year on my way in as i handed them out. wait till you get in and be subtle about giving them out. the scum they get to do security are only too keen to kick you out. They dont get much chance to get their frustrations out since the peace process started.

Its more the fact that its MCD webspace bein provided to people for free so thats why they wouldnt want people posting up the times

    You genius, thank you

It is only through reading that that I realised Whipping Boy are playing there this year. I'd genuinley no idea, how the hell could I miss that!? One of my all time favourite bands, excellent :D

    Damn it.

Death cab and The Who are on at the same time. Damn damn damn

Moved Sigur Rós into the right spot so there's no confusion. ;)

I was interesting in going to Saturday only but there's way too much clashing. Absolutely nothing really interests me before 7pm. Why they cram bands on every stage at every timeslot is beyond me.

Sunday actually now looks better as most of the bands I want to see are staggered throughout the day... but sure the day itself clashes with the World Cup final...

Hmmm....i only wanted to see bout 4 or 5 bands/people. what are chances that some would clash? Slim. But Donovan Frankenwreiter and Wolfmother at the same time! Wolfmother easily gets it. And i kinda wanted to see We Are scientists but they clash with Arctic monkeys, whom i dont want to see, but i want to see Strokes and the Who more importantly. Ah sure, it'll be fun either way.

Oh and thanks to the person who put up the times

How come James Brown is headlining Saturday, and not the Who?

I was wholly unimpressed with Wolfmother in Roskilde... if you like and know the songs you'll be happy but they are nothing special in their execution. We are scientists are more active when live than the Arctic Monkeys but it really depends on whose songs you like the most.

Hmm Im mostly annoyed at the Go Team/ Death Cab clash If only because I didnt bother to see Death Cab in Roskilde to see them here. Also yeh this is definetly the first mention of Whipping Boy... Id go see them but only stay if Ferghal is actually on tune on the day.

glad seeing Eels the day before so can see Futureheads

Nice slot for James Brown though after last year so many people missing out cause he was packed.

Also nice place for Vitalic. Sunday is perfect.

He's not headlining, he's the afters. Brilliant time for it. The Abba tribute band played that slot last year.

Thanks a million for posting the stage times!

Does anyone know if the "2 Day / No camping ticket" has to be used by the same person on the Saturday and Sunday? i.e. If you go on the Saturday, can you give the ticket to someone else for use on the Sunday?

I heard rumours that they make you swap your paper ticket for a 2 day wrist band when you arrive - and obviously this would make it hard to transfer it to someone else on the Sunday... Is this true? And if so, any suggestions on finding a way to transfer the ticket/wristband?!

    Cheers!

And we're perfect for that kind of thing, great way to end the night.
