Forgive me if this has been discussed before, but what do you's all think of John Kelly getting cut? I for one think it's a pile of bollocks. Mystery Train is what it's all about:D

Well here's hoping. I owe my interest in jazz to a chance hearing of Song For My Father on that radio show over two years ago.

I remember him playing that song on that show 2 years ago. I have been interested in jazz for years but I did not know what that song was and had to wait ages for teh set to end and to pray that he would say who it was.

He should have another slot if there was any justice eh??
The only way I found out was by checking the playlist on the internet a few weeks later, it turns out that the song was on the only jazz album we have in the house, which nobody really bothered to listen to. Lucky eh? It was a compilation album with the best of blue note, so it could only encouraging my interest in jazz.

Kelly's often at gigs I go to see, maybe I'll say hello next time.

Yeah it's such a shame - RTE really seemed to have shot themselves in the foot with the last round of rescheduling, but cutting Mystery Train was definitely the worst idea they've had in a long time. And not only that, but Rattlebag too? Morons!
