Someone to bet for me?

Hello,

I remember a few years ago seeing advertising for people who place bets for you, for people who work daytime and cant get to the bookies and the like, does anyone know anyone professional that provides the service and how much they cost??

They would need to be a professional service because i wont let any old stranger have access to my betfair account.

betfair has a mobile service which can be accessed via a 3G phone... have you tried this?

Have you not got internet access in work? If you do but it blocks betfair I might be able to help.

As Nick says you can access betfair via mobile now, it doesn't have to be a 3G phone though, anything that can handle GPRS will do the job.

Good advice, whats involved in setting up a phone account with betfair. Also ive read the minumum bet is 50 euro, when im laying, im laying outsiders so my liability will always be above 50 euro so will this be ok??

Also what rate is the phone called charged at and are there other fees to consider??

Also because im usually very busy in work its likely that i wont get a chance to get to the internet or phone at the times needed i.e 20 mins before the race and with laying outsiders this will be awkward as you have to keep a good eye for the right price.

Whats the deal with over the phone, can you ring in an order and ask them questions like whats the official SP and ask them what the trend has been like for the horse i.e is the price drifting or shortening on betfair. I dont want to get caught paying 38.0 for a 14/1 on betfair not knowing the SP. Anyway i wont be able to do this for the day meetings but the phone option would be handy for evening meetings when im not near the internet. I usually have my horses picked out in advance the night before and its just a matter of seeing if i can get the right price.

Not knowing a whole lot about the 3G phone thing can someone explain further, what exactly would i need and what will the subscription cost to get internet access, is it at dialup speeds and prone to crashing???

Sorry for all the questions and also does anyone have any idea what someone would charge to do this and also how they charge i.e by the bet etc

Unfortunatley, when they say the minimum bet is €50, that applys to laying too. In other words, the backers stake for your lay will be €50, not your liability. In your case, laying an outsider to €50 would need a very large bank to cover the liabilities.

The official SP is not known until the off. I'm sure they will tell you the price changes on betfair, but I don't reckon they will look up the current bookie price.


I'm not sure about betfair mobile as I don't yet have it. I'm sure masterK can answer that one though.

All gambling sites are blocked, this includes lotto.ie

Have a look to see if www.oddschecker.com is blocked or not.
