Working Authorization / Visa Start Date Perdicament

    I'm a civil engineer and I have applied for a Working Authorization. My problem is that my company put my start date as July 3rd (which is tomorrow) and I just submitted the application a few weeks ago. It is currently being processed in Dublin but I'm a little worried it will be rejected because I obviously won't be able to start on the 3rd (but my employer is OK if I start after.) Has anyone else had this problem and was your application accepted or denied? A second question is this: How long does it take for the Working Authorization / Visa application to be processed? Thanks for your help!

    You would probably need to give us ,more information - is it an Irish Visa/authorisation issue for a start?

    It's a "Working Authorization" for a civil engineering job in Ireland. Since I'm not a citizen of the EU, I need permission to work. So I've interviewed with a company in May, they've said they wanted to hire me, we've signed the contracts (which states my start date as July 3rd), etc. Now all that's left to do is get my work permit approved. My application is in Dublin but will they accept it after my supposed start date has come and passed?
