    Has anyone been to Salou recently (last 6 months)?

    I am going with family in a few weeks for a fortnight. I've read some (very) bad and some quite good reviews of the place here, and some reviews of the Salou Suites Apartments where we will be based (was dire up to 12 months ago - new owners now - feedback on www.holidaysuncovered.co.uk seems a lot better now).

    If you have been there in the last while, I'd love to hear some tips on the best restaurants/sights/things-to-do! Also, what to avoid? Didn't buy the pre-paid tickets for the big themepark - can buy them out there for a day or 2 at a time from the kiosks, I'm told.

    A train-trip into Barcelona once or twice looks good too.
    A bit if a newbie at this!

    Any opinions? :rolleyes:

    Salou Suites are fine. Salou is fine. Portaventura is brilliant. Barcelona is brilliant. Listen, 99% of those resorts are tosh now and you pay for what you get. Salou, like all those other places, provides a place where you can have an enjoyable holiday and basicaly get out of it what you want/can.

    Right_Side, I did have a look on these forums, and you're right - a lot of negatives - was looking for recent opinions I suppose!

    Fair enough fade2black - I was kinda thinking that myself! Have you been there yourself recently?

    Whatever happens we'll have a good holiday I think! Not expecting Paris in the Spring! :)

    Anyone else been there lately?
