Just to let everyone know that there is Polo on on the park today in the grounds beside the Zoo. It starts at 2 ish to around 5 or 6. You can park beside the clubhouse. I will be there with my EOS 350D and a Sigma 70-300 if you want to have a chat and exchange tips.... One question too, if I shoot in raw and shutter priority and the aperture flashes when taking a shot can I just use the exposure slider in PS to brighten them? or will it be too much..

Hope to see some people there... :)

I've got a housework and DVD day today... hope you don't get rained on, just saw a shower there but it cleared up fairly quickly.

If you're on shutter priority and you're struggling for light, even if it opens the aperture right up, it may end up underexposed and if you use the 'exposure' slider in your RAW processing program it may show up some noise. It keeps happening to me when I've got underrexposed shots. If your lens is less than f3.5 you will probably be ok in daylight i'd expect, shooting at 1/500 or more - how fast does it need to be to freeze the action anyway?

You could always go to ISO 400 if you're struggling, rather than depending on brightening it up later on - i think the noise would be a lot less in comparison. Just take some overall readings with your camera from the grass and see what you get... hope you have a good day :)

I might head up to that ,I tried getting shots of horses in the phoenix park before but the wall around them was too high.

If the ground is wet do you get the muck travelling when the horses are digging the feet in ??

Thanks Elven. The ground is quite hard and it will take quite a bit of rain to soften it up. Only 3 games today so it will not be dug up too much. There is only a small rail around the pitch no wall
