Master Pramote was telling me when they flew to holland, the 1st time Nampon was to fight Dekker...the promoter put them up in a hotel bang in the middle of the red light district. they was a few other Thai fighter on the bill, and the lads being country boys, and never anywhere, though this right light area full of sexy frang girls was great, and they went drinking and chasing women the night befoer the fight and spent the whole night out. He did not tell Master Promote for years after he retired..and begged forgivenesss!!! No wonder Dekker won that fight!! :eek:

And as I sit here, I am no more that 300 yards from his mothers house. small ol world.

saw some great fights last night, in the village up the road. a great KO by kick to head!

If any of you want to reach the top in Thai...

The best kids in this camp, are doing over 2000 kicks a day with the padman.
In sets of 100 kicks...left right left right, round and round the ring.

Usually takes an hour, then its on to the bags, or clich work for an hour.

sometimes 3000. No BS lads, I be there daily and see it when I am going my own training.

I do a wee bit of that myself, and I am lucky if I can get to between 400 to 500 a time.
sometimes I look at the Thais training and i think...why do I even bother!!!

Ducman, would you believe it that in Thailand where hes from there prob not any hookers and they take great care of there fighters and steer them away from women and drink cos they get you beat in the ring... so it prob believable that he never got up on one... so to speak

This is the arse end of Thailand, 2 hours from cambodian border. Chances are Nampon never even seen a hamburger or Pizza, never mind a knocking shop. and all Thai men want to get at a Frang women..thats the prize for them.

Yes the camp Nong Ki Payuth is very strict. Master Pramote, who owns the camp and is Nampons trainer, is a highly educated man (Masters Degree) Fluent English, a former school teacher and politician.

He is very strict. The younger apprectinces who are being groomed for the big league so to speak, must attend school daily. He threw out one 16 year old up and comer who has good potential, for mitching school.

He threw out his fighter who was a recent Lumpinee Champ and Thai K1 champ, for drinking whiskey. (which means his career is now over).

Some of the boys, who never made it big, but still fight on the local circuit as pros, are terrifed of getting caught on the whiskey.
