If i was to drive down to oxegen, do i need to buy a parking ticket before hand, and how much does this cost? Is driving even a good idea or should i get a train/bus? I heard there is a park and ride system somewhere, whats all this about?

The first bus from bus aras to punchestown is at 13.00 on friday is that not a bit late I was told before that the place gets very packed quickly and the traffic gets very bad aswell. How quickly do the good tent spots get taken?

You can definitely get them back on the monday. Will cost a tenner afaik. This is my first year having to get a bus up, normally I've had a lift!

thanks for that youthacademy. Hope you're right, cause return ticks seem to be sold out on the ticketmaster site! Thats what had me worried.

well this is my sixth year goin to the festival and i've got the bus to and from dublin a few times, and never had a problem. people often buy return tickets jus in case they have no lift back and then jus sell them at the bus stop on the monday.

a train to sallins is the best way. im a local boy so trust me. sallins is around 35 mins walk from naas town centre and from there you can get a buss out in around 10-15 mins. heuston to sallins is 6 euro and it takes 25 mins.a taxi from sallins to naas will cost €10 at the most and last year i think they had a standard €5 charge a head in taxi's out to the racecourse. If there is a group of you its the only way. the n7 should be avoided like the plague. its got crazy roadworks at the mo so the ryder cup fans dont hit any pot holes in their bentleys.

    Hi

OK ... my first Oxegen festival ... ony going along for Saturday ... but I am relieved in the knowledge that at least one of the bands playing had their previous gig in Ireland before I was born ... The Who last played in 1966 in the National Boxing Stadium ... complete with special Green White and Orange jackets rather than the usual union jacks ...

Anyway ... I'm trying to decide to drive or bus it ... what is the driving experience normally like ? ... no doubt it involves sitting in traffic a lot but at least you have aircon and your own sounds ... how long does it take ?

What do people recommend form experience ?

    Thanks

first off, there's no bus tickets online.

    second, i don't need a return, €20, just a single, getting a lift back.

is there any other ways to get out there, from city center?

anyone got a spare seat on a mini bus?

Taxi, would be expensive tho. There are a few people selling bus tickets on the oxegen.ie forums either.
