What software do I need to view a .jpg file?

I have received a picture in .jpg format as an email attachment but am unable to view or open it.

What software do I need to view this file and can I download it free from anywhere?

mspaint can open them, also microsoft picture viewer both come standard in XP.

there's others aswell like paint shop pro, photoshop and theGIMP the first two you have to pay for the last is free.

MS Paint, Windows Picture and Fax viewer, MS Photo Editor and GIMP is good as its free, you could just download that.

just try holding shift and then right clicking on the .jpg file
choose open with and then choose any of the first 3 choices that Ruu mentioned (all depends on which version of windows you're using though)

if that doesn't work, you'll just have to buy a copy of photoshop.

Open it in any web browser - Internet Explorer or Firfox
Image programs like MS Paint or thegimp.org

OK, I downloaded the GIMP but that didn't work and now I realise it's because of the following message.

'OE removed access to the following unsafe attachments in your mail'.

What's that about?

go to tools, options, click on the security tab and then uncheck the "do not allow attatchments to be saved or opened...." box

but don't blame me if it's a C0mput0r V1r0s

Try saving the attachment first and then you will be able to view it.
