Can anyone tell me what this ftp error is

    I am ftping my xbox via MS explorer (ftp://xbox:xbox@192.168.1.3) but every so often when I am trying to copy over files I get this error msg,anyone tell me what it means and maybe why I am getting it

    Sounds like you just need to change the file permissions. Do a google search. Cant remember off hand but I think it might be something like 0644 is the permission code you need.

    When your FTP ing the files can be transferred as either ASCII or binaries.
    ASCII is good for transferring the likes of text documents, binary for things like executable files.

    Try downloading a FTP client, the advantage of using a client is that you can set files to be transferred by setting the file type to automatic, i.e. the FTP client automatically determines the type of file and transfers it as either ASCII or binary.

    Thanks for that lads, another question I have maybe you could help me with.
    I changed the HDD in my xbox using Evox but did not do as suggested on the net,backup my original HDD before hand:o . New HDD installed fine and will allow to store play games etc but as you probablay know if I try to boot the xbox with no disc in the drive it will try and boot to the original MS dash but because I did not save the original settings that came on the HDD I get the usuall flashing red power button. Is there anyway to reinstate the original files that are needed or am I stuck with this setup

    Try Flashfxp, handy, easy to use, never fecks up ftp programme. ;)
