Anyone notice the different smells of a city in the warm summer days/evenings, or have you any you'd like to mention.

Eg. Moore St., all year round I suppose

I often feel embarresed about the smell of the liffey in summer. Our twenty first century capital city and it smells of sourage everytime the sun shines. Millions of tourists leave with the smell of ****e in their nostrils, disgracefull.

One thing I've definitely noticed with all the dry hot days lately is the smell of piss around the place... like this one bus stop I walked by today, euurgh, smelled like 50 guys took a piss on it the night before.
Though I held my breath walking past it on my return journey and all was well.

There are certain hot-spots around town aswell that are very popular with homeless people... one such back-alley shortcut off Grafton street was piss-smell-central.

Pff and I'm a smoker... so you know that was some strong smelling piddle.

urea crystals are the cause of that.
i read an article about it once.
you piss against a wall, the piss dries out and the urea crystals become embedded in the concrete. it takes a power hose and lots of disinfectant to get rid of it. without washing, the crystals will stay around for years.

anyway, i remember that summer in Dublin...

    i'll go now.

What the hell is up with that? It moved and ended up just down from HMV yesterday. Still better than the Liffey which smells like ass on a hot day when the sun is out.
