Charity Marathon Running

I've started training for a marathon later this year. Thing is, I haven't decided which marathon. I want to run it for charity, as I'd like to do something to help, and also, because I feel that having a charity counting on me to run it, would be good motivation to train.
So, I was wondering, what charities could I run for? Are there charities which would pay for flights for the New York Marathon for example, once I raise a minimum amount, as it could be a once in a lifetime opportunity?

Hi Blisterman, you should be commended on running a marathon to raise cash for charity.

Myself and a group of friends ran the Paris marathon a couple of years back for Cystic Fibrosis Ireland. 4 of us managed to raise 10,000 for the charity.

If I was you I'd pick a charity thats means something to you personally and forget about minimum amounts and having your flights paid for.

Just try to raise as much money for the worthy cause as you can.

    best of luck with it.

Yeah, you're probably right. All the money for flights and stuff is just less money for the charity. I might just do the Dublin one.
I'd still like to know which charities would have official sponsorship forms and stuff, so people know I'm not ripping them off.
