Customs 'Slow' - anybody else having this problem???

    Not sure if this is quite the right forum... but it was the closest match i could find.

    Bought some goods for a seller on eBay, in Taiwan, about two weeks back.

    Unfortuantely, the seller didn't mark any value at all.

    Within 24 Hrs of it arriving in customs, I had a slip of paper asking me to forward an invoice stating the value.

    Which I did that same day.

    I rang them the next day, and they told me the amount that was due, and that the package has been released but was that it 'Has not been rescanned yet'

    Trouble is, that was a week ago, the last thing listed on the An Post site is 'Arrived into customs' which is two days early than that.

    An Post told me that customs are backed up, (perhaps true, perhaps not) what I can say for sure is that Customs have not answered the phone on multiple attempts, at various times, today.

    I'm inclined to suspect the problem *is* the customs side rather than An Post, but can't say for sure.

    Anyone else in the same boat?? Or can anyone offer some advice??

    im in the same kinda situation.
    i got some stuff from the states but the customs are holdin the package until
    i forward an invoice.
    i ve faxed it this morning so ill have to wait a bit to see how it goes.
    This never happened before with any of the stuff i received from outside the
    EU.
    i ll let you know in a few days if the same type of delay occurs

    my package has bein released after 1 day i gave the info they requested in,
    so if it takes longer you should really get in touch with them

    As of this morning, still nothing new on the status.


    Yesterday, Customs and An Post were still blaming each other. So, I got fed up and started taking more drastic steps.


    I'm staring to wonder if someone in the chain decided to help themselves......
