    Hey guys,

So this is how it goes...

    Morning:

4 Wheetabix with semi-skimmed milk and a protein shake

Lunch is usually a Sandwich which consists of granary brown bread or wholemeal bread with a slice or two of swiss cheese, sweetcorn, onion, maybe some chicken...no butter and no mayo. Sometimes I get one of those cuisine de crap french rolls with same fillings...but i know they are bad for u anyway.

Or else two poached eggs on two piece of granary toast...

Then I go to the gym around 7:30...and finish around 9'ish. Then I have another protein shake with two scoops of ON whey.

Dinner is nearly always around 10pm when i finish in the gym and is two chicken fillets, 4 boiled organic potatoes and sweetcorn and some carrots and then a protein shake.

I know my dinner is had too late but I don't like eating before the gym as I am always hungry after the gym...sometimes I would even have some more wheetabix with semi-skimmed milk as I get real hungry!

Try eating the main meal during the day maybe?

I guess I could suggest that you should probably have the most intake when you need it most (IE: when you have half a work day and a full gym session ahead of you).

Or even better have 4 or 5 small meals instead of a big feed at any one time. keeps the metabolism going so your body is still ticking over when your asleep instead of loading up just when you go to sleep.

    Not professional advice...just my opinion.

Really? Are Sandwiches utter pants for you? It's the only thing I can think of eating since my main meal is always chicken, i NEVER eat steaks or pork chops or that crap. I also munch on cashew nuts on some days...I don't really eat lots of fruit...i try to but i never get my full portions in. And also, I sometimes eats beans on toast at lunch too. At weekends, i would eat the odd burger and maybe a chocolate bar. I don't like admitting that!

I always go to the gym on an almost empty stomach...partly cos of no-xplode!

Oh and if i get hungry throughout the day, i go for more wheetabix!

also what time are you eating lunch at cause if it is 1, then you are going 9 hours without putting any food into you and your metabolism isn't going to be working to the best of it's abilities and as stated earlier without food in you your gym sessions may be suffering

Lunch can be from around 1pm - 3pm or thereabouts depending on my day...

I mean I'm not skinny. I have a 30" waist but I weigh 81KG's or thereabouts and am around 6'0" and have a bodyfat of 10%.

Thats kinda too lean for my liking. Of course if you are happy with it thats good! You are cutting right? Your food plan is not geared towards building or in some cases keeping lean muscle.

So wat's good for keeping it lean? I really have to decide whether or not I want to get bigger or not. I keep freaking that I will get out of proportion cos I wouldn't notice.

General speaking, for the average gym goer it can be hard to get out of proportion once all your muscle groups are being given equal attention.

I would suggest though that if you are happy with your size then that is cool...it can be hard to go the gym and have passion though if you are trying to "maintain" as it can get a bit dull, maybe train more for strenght as you can get a lot stronger with just a little bit more size, or looking into something like Crossfit, which will also help you lean out more should you want to.

Hey cheesedude, a couple of observations,

Get rid of the wheetabix, it's crap to be honest, try some oats with some fruit, you can throw your protein as well,

you should also be aiming to eat a couple of hours after this, and then again at lunch, mid afternoon, pre work out and then post workout,

    6 small meals a day,

To go from lunch until 10 o'clock at night without eating is not doing you any good at all, I know myself I wouldn't have the energy to train properly with that little food,

Mix your diet up a bit, add some tuna, low fat cottage cheese, nuts, seeds etc instead of another bowl of weetacrap

Ok i'll try get rid of it...I always go through phases of porridge but then get bored so go back to Wheetabix etc...i'll try ditch it though.

I'll try eat the 6 small meals a day. Thanks for the advice.

I would only eat steak if i was in a good restaurant...i would never buy it and cook it myself...i just prefer chicken to be honest. I try to avoid anything with saturated fats or keep it to the very minimum @ least. I mean i have been known to go to Eddie Rockets on a piss up night to get some chicken tenders or whatever but I find it impossible to live a TOTALLY clean diet 24/7. Plus if i eat something which is bad for me, i make sure i go for a big run the following day.

I just am not the biggest fan of red meat...but I do like burgers...would that count if the meat was lean?

I see these lads down the gym who would have like massive upperbody and real skinny legs and they just look really out of proportion...or else you get guys with massive arms and small chests and your there going "how did that happen?"

I have until Monday anyway to decide if I am going to bulk up or stay the same as that is when I am getting my programme changed.
